The word gets used a lot and loses its meaning. In practice it means four specific things:
Toner, drums and spare parts come through the official distribution channel. A copy part saves a little and shortens the machine's life — and many of the faults that reach us were caused by an earlier repair with a non-genuine part.
The person who repairs your device is the one who installs and commissions it. That is not a detail — correct diagnosis saves a visit and a part.
The device is registered under warranty in Egypt and honoured locally without waiting on anyone abroad. And the warranty is affected by non-genuine toner — a point that is often forgotten.
Machines such as imageRUNNER, imagePROGRAF and imageFORMULA are not sold at retail — they are supplied, installed and trained on through an accredited channel, with service and supply contracts.

If you are evaluating a supplier, ask three questions: are the spare parts genuine or third-party replacements? Are the technicians factory-trained? And in whose name is the warranty registered?
