Compatible supplies

The genuine ink and toner that fit this device. The wrong part number simply will not seat — go by the number, not the shape.

How to choose a plotter

Large-format choice is determined by two things before anything else: what you print, and the largest size you actually print. Getting either wrong is expensive.

CAD or imaging?

This is the most important question and the one most often confused. The TM, TA and TX lines are built for drawings: precise lines, speed and a sensible cost per metre. The PRO line is built for photography and proofing, with a far larger ink set for gallery-level colour accuracy. An engineering office buying a PRO is paying for something it does not need.

The largest size you actually print

Not the largest possible. Most engineering offices work at A1 and A0, and a wider machine costs more in price and floor space without ever being used.

How many metres a month

Take your external print invoices for the last six months and divide by six. That number decides whether owning is justified at all, and if so, what size of machine.

The most common mistake: buying before calculating

Many offices buy a plotter on instinct and then it sits idle most of the month. If printing is seasonal or one project every few months, a print shop is cheaper — and we say so plainly when the numbers say so.

Why there is no listed price

Prices in this category move with the exchange rate, and the price itself varies with roll width and accessories. A figure that is right today may not be in a few weeks — so we prefer to give you a current price when you ask, rather than a stale number on a page.

  • The roll width the machine takes
  • Stand and take-up unit
  • Number of inks in the set
  • Integrated scanner if you need one (copying drawings)
  • Initial ink set and media

Send us these five and we will come back with a quote

  1. What you print: drawings, photography or presentation boards
  2. The largest size you print
  3. Roughly how many metres a month
  4. Whether you need to copy drawings (integrated scanner) or print only
  5. Whether you print from AutoCAD, Adobe or both
