Canon inkjet printers — PIXMA

Inkjet is the natural entry point for home printing: a lower up-front price and better colour and photo output than laser. The PIXMA range splits into two very different lines — cartridge models (MG, TS, TR) that cost least to buy, and MegaTank (G) ink-tank models that ship with enough ink for thousands of pages and drop the cost per page to pennies.

Cartridges or ink tank?

If you print under 50 pages a month, a cartridge model like the PIXMA MG2540S or TS3440 makes sense — the printer is cheap and you barely consume ink. Print more than that, or have kids printing schoolwork, and the G-series MegaTank models pay back the price difference within the first year on ink alone.

What to check before you buy

Check three things: whether you also need copy and scan or print only (models with a scanner are 3-in-1), how it connects (Wi-Fi is worth it if you print from a phone), and duplex printing if you print a lot of documents. A3 is available in only one model in this range — the iX6840.

Common questions

What is the cheapest Canon printer in Egypt?

The cheapest models we stock are cartridge-based inkjets — the PIXMA MG2540S and TS3440. Current prices are shown on each model below, excluding VAT.

How much do MegaTank printers actually save?

A single ink bottle in the G-series prints thousands of pages where a cartridge prints a few hundred, so the cost per page drops to a fraction. The difference becomes obvious past 200–300 pages a month.

Do these printers print from a phone?

Any Wi-Fi model prints straight from a phone through the Canon PRINT app, and from iPhone via AirPrint with no app at all. USB-only models need a computer.
